Sawyer designs and hand sews beautiful Chitenge Bags made from authentic African wax fabric. Each bag is uniquely designed with a different theme that has significance for Sawyer. Although each bag design has similar patterns and colors, no two bags are exactly the same. When you purchase a Chitenge Bag, you will truly be sporting a one-of-a-kind design. Through the sales of cookies and soda at grandma’s garage sale and Chitenge bags, Sawyer raised more than $26,000 in her first couple years of sales. Now, Sawyer has taken chitenge bags to another level.

Made from scraps of authentic African wax fabric, every Chitenge Bag is a unique combination of many vibrant patterns. Some of Sawyer's newest designs are inspired by her love of musical theatre to include patterns entitled Hamilton, Beetlejuice and Les Miserables.

Every bag is a pre-order and are created after an order is placed. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery.
